The Marilyn Keller Lundberg Scholarship fund was started in 1983 in memory of Marilyn Keller Lundberg, an active Upsilon AOII alumna. Marilyn had been the Financial Secretary for the Seattle Alumnae Chapter and had worked with Upsilon Chapter as a volunteer during recruitment. Marilyn died very suddenly while sitting with her husband, and he felt impelled to start the fund in her memory.
Each year, we look forward to awarding one sister from each collegiate chapter with a scholarship. The need for financial help is ever increasing, and we look forward to being able to offer funds each year. Most of our donations have been collected at Founders’ Day and at regular alumnae meetings.
As we continue to grow the fund, our goal is to be able to award additional scholarships per chapter and with increased value. Our hope is to have this scholarship remain locally controlled, and in perpetuity. This is dependent on continued donations to the fund and willing Seattle Alumnae Chapter members servings as guardians and developers of the scholarship.
To support the Marilyn Keller Lundberg Scholarship, we ask that you keep your own Marilyn’s Mason Jar throughout the year to collect your spare change. We will collect all jars at our Founders’ Day celebration in 2017! You can also donate above.
The Marilyn Keller Lundberg Board is always looking for Seattle Alumnae Chapter Members who would like to serve as members at large or on the Board. Please email Ann Beardsley (ann@brightraven.com) if you are interested.
